But the dictionary was missing the reading glass it normally includes—the pages are photo-reductions of the full-size OED, so the print is incredibly tiny. You need a magnifying glass in order to read anything.

I was thus on the lookout for a magnifying glass, to complete this addition to my library.
If you read the text in the post, you’ll see that a pair of magnifying glasses were available. Although the post is dated for November, the trade actually took place in January (you can search in the Facebook group for past items; often people still have stuff they posted weeks and months ago).
We agreed on a token and some Skittles:
The token originated from Trade #10, while the Skittles have been discussed elsewhere, so the net transaction was, I got the magnifying glasses for a book.
This trade nearly didn’t take place: the other Bun got stuck at work and didn’t check their phone. It was the first time I had gotten flaked on, but what was funny was that the trade was at their house! How do you flake at your own house?!
And it was cold that night too. But in the end, I managed to pick up the magnifying glasses.
I made a conscious decision that evening to take a relaxed attitude towards flaking. It’s unfortunate when it happens. And if it happens casually or disrespectfully that can be quite aggravating. It sucks when your time is wasted.
But in general it’s not worth getting exercised over. Life happens. Sometimes people are just not in control of what’s going on around them.
And really, it’s ‘just stuff’— and not even stuff that’s worth that much, ultimately.
So I wasn’t angry. It was an opportunity for me to practice being patient.
The optics on the magnifying glasses aren’t very good, so I might try to get another glass at some point.
