Trade 3: Bananas for a loan of OS X Snow Leopard

My third trade was about helping out another Bun in need: someone was looking to borrow a copy of the installation disc for OS X Snow Leopard, a very old version of the Macintosh operating system.

In a way this was like the previous trade, in that a ‘free’ usable computer would be the outcome of the transaction.

As it happens, I own a copy of the disc which I was quite willing to loan out. Snow Leopard, incidentally, is five major OS revisions into the past. But still somewhat serviceable. If you’ve got ancient Mac hardware like me, it’s a decent operating system. Hooray for old technology that still works!

Since this was just a loan, I hardly asked for anything, just a bunch of bananas.

To my surprise, when we met for the transaction Francis (the other Bun) also handed me a bunch of subway tokens!

That was significantly more than I asked for, but I didn’t decline them. It was like getting a happy bonus—I got taken by surprise.

I’ll have more to say about tokens later on—some Bunz shun their usage within the Zone. [Update: see this post on tokens]

The bananas were delicious [and Francis managed to get his system up and running]. This trade is significant in the sense that it made me understand that some Bunz are super generous, by nature—which made me want to do more trades.

Success!
