An important aspect to Bunz is the neighbourly, community feel.
The trading isn’t entirely for personal gain; sometimes you get the opportunity to help other people out. I also like to open my eyes to different experiences, which whimsically saying ‘yes’ to things allows me to do.
In this case, someone was looking for help. They were feeling a little overwhelmed by a sea of accumulated toys and books and clothes, and needed some outside assistance to get the purging process underway.
I spent a day helping this Bun more or less clear out her place. For privacy I won’t get into details, but I will say that I got a heartwarming glimpse into the household of a happy, loving family. I also met a couple of other positive Bunz who came to help out as well.
Here’s what I got in return (not shown is the delicious lunch that was ordered for us):
I didn’t exactly wind up getting much. A clock, a raygun, an extra laptop adapter. I also got this cool homemade walking stick:
I can pretend I’m Gandalf walking through the forest!
To emphasize: it’s not always what you get back that counts. Helping others is part of the Bunz vibe.
Afterwards we had cleared so much junk out, you could see it was like an oppressive weight had been lifted. Go Team Cull!
