Trade 15: Beer for crappy business books

A student Bun was making a short surrealist art film about a businessman who fires a goldfish underling.

For props in the scene, she needed some business books with a particular aesthetic:

By coincidence, I have a ridiculous stack of craptacular business books lying around that I took from craigslist, which I never bothered to dump (I took them because there were a bunch of other books I wanted in the lot).

I don’t even work in the corporate world, so this was a perfect marriage of my junk being someone else’s treasure.

We agreed to one tallcan (of beer) per two books:

These tallcans will serve as useful currency for future trades. I hope to transmute them into something useful.

It’s funny to think of the fate of these books. Each one was written and published with serious intent, but they wound up starring in some student’s art film (and no doubt their authors would strenuously object to my classifying them as ‘craptacular’). Recycling the utility of unwanted items fulfils a key Bunzian value.
