Trade 1: A free haircut for modelling

My first trade on Bunz turned out not to be an exchange of goods, but rather of services.

A barber at Mankind Grooming Studio in Parkdale posted this offer of a free (and specific) haircut, in exchange for modelling as the subject for that haircut, to be executed at a given date and time.

I really needed a haircut. Like really really. But it was too late! Someone else had signed up before I could reply.

Luckily for me, the Bun who was scheduled to attend cancelled, so the slot became free again, and I took up the offer.

I was excited and nervous about doing it, because I had no idea whether the particular haircut would look ok on me. I thought it would be entertaining to get the haircut and see what happened.

The experience proved very interesting. The reason why they needed a model, was that they had the senior barber observe and comment during the process. They discussed hair theory extensively, and why a cut had to be made a certain way, based on the circumstances of my locks; I found that entirely fascinating.

So here’s the before and after shot.

HAHAHAHAHA.

A fine cleanup job, and incidentally I can also state that three weeks later it still looks great (you know how sometimes a haircut looks ok but then a couple weeks in it’s all goofy looking again). Mankind Grooming: check ‘em out; they appear to know what they’re doing.

Success!
