As a young man in university, I befriended a couple of audiophiles during my co-op work terms. I couldn’t help but be jealous of the carefully assembled, pricey component stereo sound systems they’d built.
But I couldn’t afford that sort of expenditure, so I never got around to replacing the adequate, but comparatively underpowered bookshelf system my generous parents gifted to me.
And all these years later, I could never really justify putting together a sound system, because I don’t listen to music enough. When I saw this post however, I thought perhaps Bunz might be a way to finally scrabble something together, for practically nothing.
You can’t argue with free, right?
I threw in some Skittles to make it a nominal trade:
Like the peacoat jacket, exchanging the receiver for some candy was a pretty sweet deal no matter how you look at it.
I don’t know what receivers go for these days, but it used to be a piece of audio equipment like this cost hundreds of dollars.
What I need now is a decent pair of speakers...
